Hedgehog Houe Photo Library is 100% New Zealand owned stock library representing 50,000 world-class Rights-protected and accurately captioned images taken by 300 photographers.
Please note that Hedgehog House is NOT a source of royalty free imagery.
Hedgehog House searchable data base of images is in its early stages of development. Currently, we have 10,000 images on-line. If you don't find what you are looking for please contact us and our staff can make a more thorough search of our files. We are also able to contact photographers to source additional imagery pertinent to your project.
TO REGISTER ON THE HEDGEHOG HOUSE SITE
Click on Login. If not a registered user then click here to Register and fill in your contact details
When returning to the site all you have to do is click on log-in and enter your username and password. You are now able to search for images by using the quick search box. Type in a keyword (eg iceberg, silhouette, cute, sheep etc) or phrase (eg farming new zealand, milford track etc) and relevant low resolution thumbnail size images will appear. You can also do a more refined search by using the custom search function. A single mouse click on each thumbnail image will give registered users a larger image complete with full caption details, photographer's name etc. This image will be watermarked.
Hedgehog House allows regular customers to view non-watermarked images. And, regular customers can click on the download comp image line that appears above each image. An even bigger image appears of a size and quality suitable to place into a mock-up. These non-watermarked 'comp' images enable the customer to make sure they have selected the perfect image for the job before placing a confirmed order for a high res scan.
LIGHTBOXES
After you have registered for the first time or logged-in as a returning customer you can put together your own lightbox of selected images. You can create as many lightboxes as you wish, giving each one a specific name eg travel brochure. These can only be accessed and viewed by you and will be stored until you click delete lightbox . You can add or delete images at any time.
Upon request, Hedgehog House staff will prepare for you a lightbox of images that we feel meets your brief.
REQUEST A QUOTE
When you have selected the best image(s) for the job by retaining them in your lightbox, tick the little box under the thumbnail for each image you wish to order. Now click Complete Quote Request. You will then be asked to fill in the details of the reproduction rights you wish to purchase, image size specifications (eg 300 dpi x A4) etc. Click Submit quote request. By return mail, Hedgehog House will send you a quote for the rights requested. Upon confirmation that the reproduction fee is acceptable, Hedgehog House will send you a high resolution scan(s). These scans can be sent by courier/post on CD, by email, to your own FTP upload site or picked up from the Hedgehog House FTP download site.
