New Zealand - Whales & dolphins

Many species of whales and dolphins are found around NZ's coasts and have been recorded by Hedgehog House photographers. Tourists go whale watching (sperm or humpbacks) at Kaikoura, or swim with dusky dolphins, bottlenose and Hectors (smallest in the world, endangered) dolphins. Killer whales are seen offshore as well. Unfortunately, strandings of pilot whales occur, despite community efforts to rescue them.
